How can Magnesium Benefit You?

Transdermal Magnesium-

What is it –how does it benefit you?

Magnesium plays a multifunctional role in cell metabolism and has a critical role in cell division.

As well as regulating the movement of potassium in the heart cells it is also known to act as a calcium channel blocker. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to cardiovascular, skeletal and central nervous system disorders and is essential for the normal function of the parathyroid gland and for vitamin D metabolism.

Now more than ever many of the degenerative diseases of western society are as a result of the mineral imbalance within our diet.

Research shows beyond any doubt magnesium deficiency plays a significant role in ischaemic heart disease.

12000 people in research who were followed for nearly 20 years demonstrated those with the highest magnesium levels had a 30% lower risk of heart disease.

Research also showed between 70% to 75% of the population of U.S.A. do not consume enough RDA of dietary magnesium, and 20% do not consume even half the daily intake of requirement.

This is because most of thebasic foods we eat with magnesium have dropped as much as 30%. As magnesium is always ignored in fertiliser production even though it is continually depleted in soils that grow vegetables and graze stock and it will take decades before the soil reabsorbs this vital mineral even if we start adding it today.

Magnesium is needed for over 325 biochemical reactions in cells in the body. The body has 7.2 trillion cells so to maintain normal muscle, nerve function, keep heart rhythm steady and mental and bone health it is critical the minimum RDA of magnesium is taken.

Taking supplements to remineralise the body of magnesium could have only a fractional absorption in the gut by as little as 4 percent.

In other words if we take the Recommended Daily Allowance of 350mg per day , this would equate to a usable dosage of only 12-16mg.

Also by taking higher doses there is a greater potential to cause diarrhoea, thereby reducing transit time through the bowels. And research demonstrates if dwell time in the bowel is less than 12 hours the amount of magnesium absorbed is dramatically lower.

The optimal method to achieving a higher level of magnesium is to bypass the digestive system with topical use of magnesium chloride.

A sensible alternative is transdermal application of magnesium which is an efficient way to increase magnesium levels and to adjust the balance with calcium in a positive manner.

Transdermal application is the ultimate way to replenish cellular magnesium levels since every cell in the body bathes and feeds in it and even Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) levels may be increased naturally.

ClinicalTrial

This trial took place over a 12 week period and involved a total of 9 patients aged between 22 and 69 years.

Hair analysis was used to measure the cellular levels of magnesium. It is an established and reliable technique and provides a permanent record of activity occurring within the body during its period of growth.

The first 3 to 4 cm closest to the scalp can give a good indication of the nutritional and toxic mineral exposure over the previous six to eight weeks.  The test is able to determine for 29 minerals and 9 toxic minerals. So by  passing the stomach and liver means a much greater percentage of the active ingredient goes straight into the bloodstream where it’s needed. It also avoids stomach upsets and drowsiness.

The mineral analysis of the hair samples indicated 7 of the 9 patients had low cellular magnesium levels, but after transdermal applications for 12 weeks all patients except one had a significant increase in cellular magnesium ranging from 2% to 262% with an overall average of 59.7%.Nearly 90% showed a substantial increase in cellular magnesium.

Of the seven of the nine test cases demonstrated by using the transdermal magnesium oil it was able to significantly detoxify minerals including aluminium, lead, cadmium and mercury.

So transdermal magnesium is a highly efficient application to the body. Additionally, the relationship between calcium and magnesium is important for many health aspects (for example bone building) and raising magnesium levels has a beneficial effect on the body ratio between calcium and magnesium by preventing calcium build up in body tissues meaning .
